On August 31st, 15 students selected from various Korean-Chinese schools in the three northeastern provinces ambitiously shared their dreams at the "8th China Youth Dream Presentation Festival," held at the Hanjiyuan Folk Culture Industry Park in Shenyang.
The Dream Presentation Festival, hosted by the My Dream International Foundation and co-organized by the China branch of the My Dream International Foundation, the Liaoning Korean-Chinese Literature Society, and the Yanbian Writers Association Liaoning Creative Committee, aims to inspire the younger generation to discover their potential and develop the qualities to tackle challenges.
According to the online drawing order, the 15 boys and girls took turns sharing their pure dreams. Their aspirations ranged from becoming diplomats and announcers to chefs, showcasing a variety of dream paths.
The Grand Prize went to Gye Eun-gyeong from Shenyang Korean-Chinese No.1 Middle School for her presentation, "My Dream Shining Like a Star in the Sky." The Gold Prize was awarded to Ri Ga-jin from Xita Korean-Chinese Elementary School in Shenyang for "Nurturing My Dream of Becoming a Chef." The Silver Prize went to Han Su-jin from Shenyang Korean-Chinese No.1 Middle School for "My Dream of Becoming a Psychological Magician," and Ri Hwon from Dalian Korean-Chinese School in Liaoning for "The Statue in My Heart." Additionally, 12 students, including Shim Su-a from Xita Korean-Chinese Elementary School in Shenyang for her presentation, "I Dream of Becoming a Diplomat," received Excellence Awards.
In his congratulatory speech, Son Chang-hyun, Chairman of the My Dream International Foundation, praised the achievements of the China branch since the start of the Youth Dream Presentation Festival. He also introduced the progress of youth dream competitions and scholarship sponsorships being held in various countries and expressed his hope that more outstanding young people would continue to nurture their dreams.
Before the dream presentations, Kwon Chun-chul, Chairman of the Liaoning Korean-Chinese Literature Society, delivered the opening speech, stating, "Through this opportunity, I hope the youth will establish their dreams and ideals and take bold steps toward realizing them," and expressed his expectations for the festival to continue in the future.
During the judging period, there were cultural performances by "little stars" selected from Yingyok Dance School in Shenyang and Xinhua Korean-Chinese Elementary School in Fushun. Following this, Chairman Son Chang-hyun discussed future initiatives for the younger generation with An Kang, a member of the Mink Foundation, who won the Grand Prize in the 2018 competition and was invited to the My Dream Gala in Houston in 2019, as well as with members of the Mink Foundation’s China branch.
